An amateur has sued another amateur for defamation and the resultant court settlement involved a written apology to retract the offensive publication and a significant financial payment as compensation.
This is an ideal opportunity to remind everyone that bullying, vilification and defamation have no place in our hobby and can have serious outcomes for the offender.
Please stop and think before you hit the enter key. Whether its a social media post, an email or an on-air statement. If you have a problem, pick up the phone and discuss it with the person involved.
