Update – consultation period extended until 9th April.
Thank you for your assistance in developing draft amendments to the Foundation syllabus. I am pleased to announce that we have published a draft amended Foundation syllabus on the ACMA website for review and comment by interested parties including the broader amateur radiocommunications community.
As discussed at the Panel meeting, the primary focus of the first round of changes is on alignment with the changes to the Amateur LCD. A more substantive review of the amateur syllabi will be considered once the Foundation changes have been made. I encourage you all to share this information with all those who have an interest in amateur radio. The closing date for submissions is cob Friday 26 March 2020. Submissions should be sent to AmateurRadioSyllabus@acma.gov.au.
ACMA staff will circulate submissions received, together with an initial analysis of the submissions, to members of the Panel as soon as practicable after the conclusion of the public comment period. Depending on the complexity of issues raised in submissions, we hope to provide a proposed amended Foundation Syllabus for final review and approval by the Panel in the week commencing 30 March 2020.
