Just to note that the ZL situation is quite different to ours.
5 MHz is very suitable for the relatively short distances required in ZL, so the band is seen as valuable by the Primary users.
The frequencies in the ZL trial are not shared with commercial land mobile services as they are in Australia.
Moreover, the commercial users in Australia are located in remote areas, and the distances between users are far greater.
RASA sees no technical or operational impediment to an amateur shared allocation on 5 MHz in VK, as per our submission to ACMA. We remain hopeful that ACMA will grant amateurs Secondary access as per the decision at the 2015 World Radio Conference.
