In this issue we ask the hard questions on matters that have been outstanding for too long. What has been going on with 5 MHz?
RASA has continued to question the ACMA on their reasons for not granting a higher power to Amateurs, and for disallowing access to the 5 MHz allocation that was granted to Amateurs globally in 2015. Over 250 countries now have access to 5 MHz – why not Australia?
It’s important that our community be kept up to date with progress on both these issues. We’ve kept the WIA in the loop with our activities and are hopeful they’ll have some updates in coming weeks.
This edition of QTC has other interesting news and articles, but alas, the gremlins got amongst us and the article on Boat Anchors didn’t make it. Watch out in the next edition for news on these fascinating old radios and why they are still a vibrant part of the hobby for so many.
