ACMA release 5 year spectrum outlook 2019-23

ACMA have finalised their 5 year spectrum outlook for the period 2019-23.

The plan identifies ACMA priorities and outputs.

For the amateur service:

  • Discussion paper on the 60m (5 MHz band) has been delayed until the first quarter 2020.
  • The (amateur exam) Syllabus Review Panel will be established in the 4th quarter 2019. It will review all syllabi and in particular the Foundation Licence syllabus to include digital modes.
  • Amateur licence conditions will be modified in the 3rd/4th quarter 2019, in accordance with the recent consultation paper.
  • Following review of submissions on amateur licence conditions in 2018–19, the ACMA will continue to consider the fitness for purpose of existing arrangements. The ACMA expects to consult further on these arrangements in the 4th quarter 2019
